Soil resistivity testing measures a set volume of soil, to determine the conductivity of the soil itself.
The resulting soil resistivity is expressed in ohm-meters or ohm-centimeters. In electrical grounding design, soil resistivity testing is the single most critical factor. It is critical when contemplating low-resistance grounding systems, electrical design or Ground Potential Rise (GPR) studies.
